The International College of Surgeons Philippine Section together with Darvys Pharma and PT Novell Laboratories officially launched KEON® (Ketoprofen) over a dinner symposium held on April 7, 2010 at the Greenhills West Clubhouse. The ICS-PS executives came in full force to demonstrate the organization’s support for Darvys Pharma. ICS was led by Dr. Ernesto Acosta, President, Dr. Jesus Sison, Vice-President and Dr. Antonio Cabigas, President-Elect.

The symposium featured an opening lecture entitled “Statin-Induced Essential Nutrient Depletion: Implications in Surgery and The Role of Ubiquinone” by Dr. Nicasio Salang, Secretary General of the ICS World Congress and Past President of the ICS Philippine Section.

The main featured lecture was delivered by Dr. Gil Vicente; Past President of the PSO-HNS and officer of the ICS-PS entitled “Revisiting Post-Operative Pain Management”. The lively discussion was participated in by members of the expert panel, which included Dr. Alfonso Doloroso, Consultant Anesthesiologist, Dr. Antonio Cabigas, General Surgeon and Dr. Rene Catan, Orthopedic Surgeon. The symposium and its discussion was hosted and chaired by Dr. Francis Decangchon, a leading cosmetic surgeon and a governor of the ICS-PS. Also present during the event were Dr.Arif Hamsah, International Marketing Manager of PT Novell Pharma and Ms. Vera Rosiana of Regulatory Affairs.
